Our easy and refreshing menu to face the heat

When it’s hot, it’s not always easy to compose a menu that is both satiating and refreshing. To help you beat the heat, without spending hours behind the stove, discover our gourmet ideas. On the menu: a starter, a main course and a dessert perfect for dealing with the high temperatures in summer.

The mercury continues to climb and the heat is felt even in the kitchen. Salads, cold soups, raw vegetables, ice creams or even fruit salads… When it’s hot, we often want cold and lighter recipes than usual. So this week, no question of lighting the oven and spending hours behind the stove. We choose fresh recipes that require little or no cooking. What to drink when it’s hot? Did you know: drinking too cold accelerates dehydration of the body. If we generally want to turn to a soda with ice cubes or a very cold glass of water, know that there is nothing more effective than drinking a drink… lukewarm (between 12 and 14° for be precise) or hot! The latter makes it possible to dilate the vessels and to evacuate the heat more easily. This way you will also avoid thermal shocks. In case of heat stroke, opt for a large glass of water at room temperature or a tea without sugar for example.

Your special high heat menu

For the starter: gazpacho express

Ingredients :
6 tomatoes
1 onion
1 peeled cucumber
1 red pepper
1 clove of garlic
1 pinch of cumin
1 pinch of oregano
1 pinch of salt
5 cl of neutral oil
5 cl of vinegar

The preparation :
Peel the tomatoes, cut them into pieces and pass them through the blender.

When they are pureed, add all the other ingredients and mix until everything is completely liquid.

Finally, pass the liquid through a Chinese or a sieve, add water and ice cubes. Refrigerate before serving.

For the dish: summer salad with mozzarella

Ingredients :
220g mozzarella
20 cherry tomatoes
1 lemon
200 g of lamb’s lettuce
1 melon
1 bunch of basil
Salt and pepper

The preparation :
Wash, drain and cut the lamb’s lettuce. Cut the melon into strips and the cherry tomatoes in 2. Crumble the mozzarella. Chop the bunch of fresh basil.

Mix everything with a pinch of salt and chill until ready to serve.

At this time, drizzle with lemon juice before enjoying

For dessert: minute red fruit ice cream without an ice cream maker

Ingredients :
2 punnets of red fruits or 400 g of already frozen red fruits for an express version
1 splash of water
1 tablespoon of honey

The preparation :
If you opt for fresh fruit, place the berries in the freezer a few hours before.
Mix the fruits with the honey and the drizzle of water.

Taste immediately.
