Puppy Abused And Thrown Into River Still Ready To Give Humans A Chance

VanBuren, a 6-month-old puppy, was found abandoned in an iron cage by a river. The young dog with the broken leg is slowly recovering from his injury and his traumatic experience at the shelter. However, it can already be adopted.

The pet association Jackson County Animal Shelterlocated in the state of Michigan to the United Statestook in an injured puppy at the beginning of May 2022. The poor animal had been thrown into the river of Jackson Country after being placed in a mesh box. Luckily, a Good Samaritan found the 6-month-old puppy before the rain fell.

Veterinary care

VanBurenhis nickname, had “a nasty fracture” on the right front paw when he arrived at the shelter, explains a member of the Jackson County Animal Shelter (JCAS) to People. The vets put a cast on him to treat his injury. He is now on the road to recovery and is grateful to the volunteers of the JCAS : “He is a super sweet and affectionate boy, only 5-6 months old. Full of energy and tenderness, he always loves people and wants to be the best dog there is.”says the shelter on its Facebook post.

VanBuren now wisely waits for an adoptive family to offer him the life he deserves, in a caring and loving home. the JCAS ensures that it can be adopted now despite the ongoing care: “We know he would heal much better in a foster home and there is no reason he should wait to be adopted! JCAS will continue medical care for his paw after the adoption”ensures the organization.
