In every man there is a pig sleeping, they say. In any case, however unlikely it may seem, a pig is indeed sleeping in a bar-tabac-games from Brest. Within the Brest samelocated at 33, rue Saint-Marc.

At the foot of the counter

The business may not look like much: for most passers-by, including some local residents, it’s a tobacco bar like there are many others in the city of Ponant, as well as everywhere else in France. . We even hesitate to enter, at the sight of the gates that cover its facade and can lead to believe that we have arrived at closing hours: don’t be fooled, come in, it’s open! Especially since a big surprise awaits the uninitiated who pass through the door: they will be able to see, counter leg… a pig !

Pet

No, we’re not hallucinating, you haven’t already had too much to drink, don’t turn around, it’s a real pig very much alive who welcomes you in this bar-tobacco-games.

This big black pigof Göttingen breedis called cous cous and is none other than‘pet from Carole Germain, the manager of the establishment: she comes from the countryside and has owned this pig since he was very young.

Like a dog

Old two years (for a life expectancy of between 15 and 20 years) and weighing 60 kilos (but it is supposed to be only 35!), Couscous has grown strong well acclimatized : he lives in an apartmentwill do his needs at the park like a dog…and established itself as the bar mascotwhere customers offer him peanuts and cakes.

Of course, for the unaccustomed, the presence of Couscous has every reason to surprise: ” It’s a real ? », asks an elderly lady, incredulous. It is with details of this ilk that we realize that Brest is not a metropolis quite like the others…
